MEET DR. EDWARD S. YALISOVE
I am a native Delawarean, married with four children. I am a 1976 graduate of Gettysburg College, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. I then went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine to receive my DMD in 1980. I completed my dental education with a year of additional training in a General Practice and Residency at the Christiana Care Health System. After my residency, I joined my father's practice. In 1991, I earned the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry and since 1981 I have volunteered at the Nemours Health Clinic treating senior citizens dental needs. Both my father and uncle were prominent dentists in the community. They inspired me to pursue this challenging yet rewarding profession. There is nothing more satisfying than to see a patient happy with their smile.
I was chairman of the Delaware Sierra Club for three years performing many different functions running the club. I also became a member of the Wilmington Trail Club. Hiking and backpacking became my leisure time pursuits which I thoroughly enjoyed. After years of serious hiking and backpacking, mountain climbing was next with ascents on Mt Hood, Mt Rainer, Cotopaxi (Ecuador) and Mt. Kilimanjaro (Tanzania). Marathon running is another physically enduring activity I engage in. I currently run full and half marathons.
I also have a creative side; several years ago I was experimenting with creating copper sculptures for my landscape and made some for the office. Astoundingly, The Delaware Art Museum featured my work in their Summer 2013 catalogue and mentioned that I was an up and coming artisan to watch at their museum store. Creating and working with copper sculptures is quite exhilarating. My journey of creativity is uncharted and full of pleasant surprises.
Compassionate and Caring Dentistry for a Lifetime
My vision is to offer each patient optimal dental care from childhood to adulthood. I advocate a holistic approach to dental care which includes nutritional counseling, intense home care instruction, periodontal (gum) maintenance and routine hygiene appointments. I believe the patient should be an active participant in his or her dental care. I offer a conservative approach (composite fillings) as well as extensive reconstructive therapy (crowns, bridges, implants and dentures). Each patient is treated as an individual; therefore, I offer many options to suit every need and financial situation. The dental laboratories I use are local and maintain highly skilled ceramists and utilize the highest quality material.
The administrative staff is friendly, helpful and welcoming. Efficiency is key to a successful dental practice. Therefore, all appointments and emergencies are addressed immediately.
